But where exactly is the Ivorian headed?

Since the curtain closed on his time with Man City, many have been left to guess where Yaya Toure's future lies. His agent dropped a huge hint recently, revealing that the midfielder has passed a medical in London.

The Ivorian has been a free agent ever since calling an end to his eight-year spell with the Citizens. He got his hands on the Premier League title in his final season there, but he was almost non-existent in Guardiola's squad which led him to accuse the Spaniard of having a "problem with Africans".

One manager whom Toure endured a great spell with was Manuel Pellegrini and had thus been linked with a reunion with the Chilean at West Ham. While a move to the Hammers might not be on the table, the 35-year-old does appear set to remain in the English capital.

His agent Dimitry Seluk said on Twitter: "Yaya Toure has passed a medical in London. Yaya is close to signing a new contract."

Seluk then added: "It's not West Ham. Yaya is a champion. The last place is not for him."

The latter remark could also rule out Crystal Palace as they also struggled last season. This raises the question: where exactly is Yaya headed?

His agent did not name his next destination. As a result, a number of clubs remain as possibilities. The East End club has been linked with the midfielder before, while the player's desire to stay in the Premier League could see him join Fulham.

Only time will reveal where the Ivorian is headed. Having not played in the World Cup, the former Barcelona man should be fit and ready to spark his career.
