The Special One disagreed with journalists over his team's performance during the 3-0 loss against Tottenham, and his words found support by an unexpected source.

Jose Mourinho's credit seems to be running out at Manchester United, but there are some that still believe he is not doing a bad job with the Red Devils.

Speaking in Talksport, former England coach Sam Allardyce revealed that Mourinho's claims during the press conference he walked out of were true: his team's tactical dominance of the game failed to produce goals, even after aiming 23 shots at Hugo Lloris' net.

"When you've had 23 shots at your own place and you have not scored, that is not the manager's fault. But the manager always gets blamed at the end of the day," Allardyce stated.

"Mourinho has set his team up to attack, they've created enough chances and opportunities to win the game comfortably, they failed to take those chances and they ended up being sucker punched by some pretty poor defending," the former coach added.

The former Everton coach added that all Mourinho needs to do know is try to recover his players' confidence, since their job has not been as bad as people may think.

"If you're a manager, you'd be saying to your players: 'Cut the silly mistakes out, keep getting this possession rate and shot rate, and we will win far more games than we'll lose,'" "Big Sam" added.

The Portuguese tactician has been facing serious criticism from fans and experts, especially after enduring his toughest loss since he became a coach. While there are some that believe he will be axed, recent reports claim that Man United's hierarchy is not considering that possibility, sinice they believe The Special One can turn things around.
