The Special One suffered an embarrassing defeat, leading many to believe his days at Old Trafford are numbered.

After seeing Man United lose to Tottenham on Monday, one could be forgiven from believing all mayhem had broken lose at the club. While there are worries at the club, the board is reportedly not planning any managerial change as many had predicted.

The Red Devils hosted Spurs needing a win to silence the critics but came out of the Old Trafford tie with a 3-0 home defeat. That loss means they have suffered defeats in two of their first three games in the season for the first time since 1992.

Rumours claimed that defeat against Pochettino's side could signal the end for the Special One, but the Guardian writes the higher-ups at Man United are not rushing to find a replacement. In fact, they saw enough positives from the embarrassing loss to award Jose time, namely their first-half performance.

The result could be labelled unfair after seeing how the home side performed in the first 45 minutes, as they were quick and played with high intensity all the while creating goalscoring opportunities. While their display was not perfect, it was a drastic improvement from the Brighton defeat – this did not go unnoticed by the board – and in the words of Mourinho, they should have been leading by half-time.

But of course, football is a game of two halves and Jose's men weren't up to par in the second half. Nonetheless, the former Chelsea boss' job is safe for the meanwhile as his team prepares for a trip to Cardiff prior to the international break.
