The German boss looked back -again- to last season's UCL final, where his goalie had a key role in Real Madrid's victory.

Once again, Jürgen Klopp referred to that trauma-filled game against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, and this time, he took the opportunity to speak about Loris Karius' reaction after his baffling performance.

The German boss spoke about his compatriot's tearful reaction after a couple of mistakes that gave Real Madrid a two-goal lead, admitting that he had a hard time in trying to hit the nail on its head with his words towards the goalkeeper.

"I am a strong supporter of the idea of just shutting up if you don't have the right words. And other than a few comforting words I did not have the right words. I did not have a clue what you could say," Klopp stated.

"I didn't have them. And that's why we left it at it that evening but for a few words," the coach added.

Speaking to Sport 1, Klopp denied his lack of words had anything to do with a angry sentiment towards the goalkeeper.

"Neither was I angry at him nor was I disappointed in him or something else. I only saw his situation, and everyone would love to have the right words," the coach revealed.

Jürgen Klopp then hinted that his relationship with the goalie is in great terms, even if Karius is on the verge of sealing a loan move to Besiktas before the end of the transfer window.

"By now, I [have] talked to him, not only about this. The situation is clear and everything is good," the coach concluded.

Due to those costly mistakes and a few more during summer's pre-season games, Karius was dropped to the bench by Klopp in favour of record-signing Alisson.
