The Juventus superstar has joined the team of the global sports streaming service.

DAZN, a global live and on-demand sports streaming service owned by the Perform Group, has confirmed its acquisition of football ace Cristiano Ronaldo as its ambassador. A statement released by the network on Wednesday revealed that a partnership spanning for two-and-a-half-years has been agreed upon by the two parties.

This new collaboration with Juventus' newly-signed superstar comes a few weeks after DAZN secured the exclusive rights to 114 Serie A and Serie B, as well as games in the Spanish La Liga and the French Ligue 1.

The role of Cristiano Ronaldo's ambassadorial position is defined as one that will see him promote DAZN on an international level with the streaming service already having existing markets in Canada, Germany, Italy, Austria and Japan.

"This is an incredibly exciting time for DAZN," James Rushton, the CEO of DAZN said.

"As our business grows internationally and pushes new boundaries, it's important that we align ourselves with sporting greats who do the same.

"Cristiano is undoubtedly a legend, fans love him and that's why we wanted to work with him. He's a big sports fan himself, so having him advocating the work we're doing is perfect."

Cristiano Ronaldo, who made his Serie A debut in Juventus' 3-2 win over Chievo Verona on Saturday, added: "The world is changing and thanks to an innovative approach, DAZN is breaking down barriers for sports fans.

"Now we can watch sport however and whenever we want, which is why, for me, being part of DAZN's journey was an easy decision to make."
