Three massive mistakes by Eric Bailly in Manchester United's second Premiership games resulted in goals for Brighton in Sunday's encounter. The Ivorian, who for the second game running, played in the heart of defense alongside Victor Lindelof was out of sorts despite impressing against Leicester City last week.
In the build-up to Brighton's opening goal, his bad positioning ensured that Glenn Murray was onside to slot home from close range. For the second goal, Bailly decision to kick the ball out for a corner instead of opting for a throw-in backfired as Shane Duffy got Chris Hutton's side's second of the day.
A mistimed tackle on Pascal Groß by the former Villarreal man was subsequently buried for Brighton's third after Romelu Lukaku had initially reduced the goal deficit to one. Many fans of the Red Devils, since, took to social media to heavily condemn the 24-year-old center-back for his recurrent slip-ups which placed Jose Mourinho's team on the wrong side of the scoreline.
The turn of events meant that for only the 10th time in the history of the English Premier League, Manchester United conceded three goals in the first half. The last time the 13-time English champions got in a similar situation was in a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal back in 2015.
Hahahahahahaha the Brighton fwds are so poor. Man make a bad first touch and Bailly still bail out the man with a poor tackle. Penalty Brighton.

Bailly has been such a liability in this match.
Eric Bailly has to be the most overrated defender in the league. Never seen him play well. He's constantly out of position and doesn't seem to be able to tackle properly.

Why is Bailly acting like Jones? Why tackle the player when he's going nowhere?

Bailly's tackle for the penalty looks worse every time I watch it

Bailly was always an accident waiting to happen that's school boy stuff kicking the ball out for a corner instead of hoofing it out for a throw in and that tackle for the pen seriously I'd hook him off

Eric Bailly showing why winning a crunching tackle now and then doesn't make you a quality CB

You know you could have made a tackle without causing a penalty there Mr Bailly

I am shocked at how Bailly has performed in this half. Absolutely shocking. I thought he was our pillar of strength.
