The Italian club has added to its great transfer businesses this summer with another signing.

AS Roma has completed the signing of French star Steven Nzonzi from Sevilla. The 29-year-old midfielder penned a four-year deal after the Giallorossi agreed to pay the Spanish club a fee in the region of 30 million euros.

Having previously played for Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers in England, Steven Nzonzi's career has been on the uprising in recent years. A stellar outing for Sevilla in the 2017/2018 season earned him a call-up for the French national team where he was used sporadically in their quest to the world title this summer.

Speaking in his first interview as a Roma player, Nzonzi vowed to repay the club for their faith in his talent by making a good impression in his stay.

"I'm very happy to be here and to be a Roma player," he told Roma TV.

"I'm very pleased to be here.

"I really felt that the club wanted me to come. This is why I am here, and I'm happy to join such a big club.

"The most important thing is always the goal of the team. My personal goal is to improve my game, but the team's objective is more important.

"For any footballer, winning trophies is the highest it gets. It's not easy to win, but that is what we work for.

"Even if it's hard to win, we aim for this. Hopefully we'll do our best to try to win.

"I always want to learn, I always want to improve," he added.

"It doesn't matter about your age, the most important thing for a player is to improve and give your best.

"[I want] to keep working hard, so I can be a better player and hopefully bring my experience to the team.

"I just want to say that I will give my best on the pitch and hopefully be a very good player for this team."
