Les Parisiens' legend Bernard Lama had harsh words regarding the Brazilian ace's personality, among other things.

It seemed that the time to criticize Neymar after his baffling World Cup had ended, but the debate is on once again following Bernard Lama's unflattering words against the striker.

The former PSG goalkeeper didn't hold back when asked his opinion about the world's most expensive player, mainly because the 55-year-old ex-footballer believes that "Ney" has no respect whatsoever for the French team.

"Neymar is only worried about playing. He is not a charismatic figure away from the pitch, and he lacks all the proper leadership skills. PSG is doing it all wrong, they should let him out of his 'bubble', he should get to know PSG fans that come from the outskirts of the city, the ones that have that PSG DNA, those who love the club more than life itself," Lama stated.

Lama played over 250 games for Les Parisiens from 1992 to the year 2000.

Added to his harsh words, Lama named Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a true leader, regretting his decision to leave the club to join Manchester United and the LA Galaxy.

"Ibrahimovic could screw things up once in a while, but it was his level of excellence and leadership skills that really got to his team-mates and made him their leader. That is not Neymar's case," Lama added in an interview with France Football.

The former French International ended the interview by admitting that Neymar's skills on the pitch are quite something, adding that in time, he could be even bigger than Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, but he needs to get in touch with "the real world" if he wants his legacy to stand the test of time.

"He needs to get a feeling of the city of Paris, really get to know the fans. Thos who make it in this team have that connection with fans, the kind of bond that comes from meeting the man on the street, not only by watching him play," Lama concluded.
