The Serie A outfit is looking to bring Croatia's World Cup star to Italy.

After Juvetus raided Real Madrid for the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo, another Italian club is aiming at poaching another one of the Spanish club's biggest stars. Inter Milan is reportedly lining up an offer to secure the service of Luka Modric from Los Merengue.

The 30-year-old midfield powerhouse has been pivotal to the success of Los Blancos since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and was recently adjudged the overall best player at the 2018 FIFA World Cup for his instrumental role in Croatia's remarkable journey to the final of the tournament.

This, among many other commendable attributes of the Los Blancos midfielder, has seemingly caught the eyes of the Inter Milan board who have decided to go after him in this summer's transfer window.

According to Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, the Nerrazzuri has already opened negotiations with the entourage of Modric and should an agreement be reached, an official offer to Real Madrid should be expected in the coming weeks.

Inter Milan is also believed to be keeping tabs on Bayern Munich's Arturo Vidal but Modric remains the No. 1 priority. The Giuseppe Meaza outfit has so far done some remarkable business in this transfer window with the club recruiting Lautaro Martinez, Radja Nainggolan, Kwadwo Asamoah Sime Vrsaljko and Stefan de Vrij.
