With Eden Hazard's transfer still being a question mark, Real Madrid would be keen on signing a top-caliber striker to replace CR7's goalscoring haul.

With the summer transfer window slowly nearing its end, Real Madrid is expected to make a move for some players that can handle the pressure of being their reference up front, mainly due to Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from the team.

Los Blancos have been linked with a couple of PSG footballers in recent weeks, namely Neymar and Kylian Mbappé. Once again, Los Blancos are being connected with a PSG footballer, but landing this striker could be easier than their previous targets.

That man is none other than Edinson Cavani, who according to Spanish newspaper As will be Florentino Pérez's choice to take over the team's goalscoring duties. The Spanish publication suggests that Cavani's deal would be more feasible, given the Uruguayan's complicated relationship with the Brazilian superstar.

As' cover reveals that Cavani would be "receptive" to Real Madrid's offer.

As' article reveals that the 31-year-old would push for an exit if Real Madrid presented a bid to Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is a big fan of Cavani and has enormous respect for the footballer.

Cavani has scored 170 goals in 246 games for PSG in all competitions, sealing his spot in the club's history as their all-time top scorer. The Uruguayan has never failed to score less than 25 goals per season since the 2013-14 campaing in which he arrived to Parc Des Princes.

The South American striker is still under contract with the team, but the good relationship between both clubs could pave the way for a transfer. Furthermore, it would give coach Thomas Tuchel one less headache, especially after the battle of egos between Neymar and Cavani last season.
