After weeks of negotiations, the Toffees have gotten their man.

Everton has made a statement signing with the capture of Brazilian sensation Richarlison. The 21-year-old has agreed to join the Merseyside club on a five-year deal to for a fee in the region of £40million.

His transfer comes after the Toffees lost out on another Brazilian prodigy, Malcom, who was seemingly heading to AS Roma but eventually made a U-turn to Barcelona after the Catalan hijacked the move with a late bid.

Richarlison was signed from Fluminense by ex-Watford manager Marco Silva – now the head-coach of Everton – for a fee of £11.2 million back in August 2017. The forward impressed among the ranks of the Hornets, making 41 appearances across all competitions and scoring five goals in the 2017/2018 season.

Speaking in his first interview on EvertonTV, Richarlison said: “I want to have a lot of success with Everton. I think it is going to be important for me here to be with Marco Silva again. I will learn more because I am still learning as a player and I aim to develop and grow here.

“Everton have put their faith in me and I intend to honor this shirt and demonstrate on the pitch why I came here. “I’ve known the manager for a while obviously, so I know how he works.

“I developed really well with him while he was with me at Watford. It was really good working with him and one day I believe he can help me to be selected for Brazil in the full national team,” the 21-year-old forward added.
