Juventus will kick off its International Champions Cup tour with a clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, July 25th.

Following a comfortable 3-1 win over PSG, Bayern Munich will commence the US leg of its International Champions Cup tour with a clash against Juventus at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. This venue, which serves as the home of NFL outfit Philadelphia Eagles, can seat up to 69,176 fans at max capacity and will host the match featuring the German and Italian champions on Wednesday at 19:05 local time (or 01:05 CET on Thursday).

Bayern and Juventus, of course, are no strangers to each other. Die Roten and the Bianconeri have famously locked horns on ten occasions in the Champions League, with the most recent of these meetings taking place during the 2015/2016 season in the round of 16. The Bavarian giants came out on top after a thrilling two-legged affair that went to extra time by a scoreline of six to four, and overall, it is the Germans who enjoy the stronger historical head to head record, with five wins versus the Italians' three.

Given that this is just a friendly, many star players on both sides will not be available due to this tournament kicking off just after the World Cup. For Juventus, fans will have to wait to see mega-signing Cristiano Ronaldo in his new kit as the Portuguese superstar is still on his holiday after featuring in the World Cup earlier this month.

Other absentees for La Vecchia Signora include Brazil's Douglas Costa, Argentina's Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain, France's World Cup winner Blaise Matuidi, Colombia's Juan Cuadrado, and Croatia's Mario Mandzukic, who was part of the Vatreni squad who finished as runners-up in Russia.

That being said, given that Italy failed to qualify for its first World Cup since 1958 after Sweden edged them out the play-offs, there are still plenty of experienced players in Juve's squad, including current captain Giorgio Chiellini, as well fellow defenders Andrea Barzagli, Mattia De Sciglio, and Daniele Rugani. Other Azzurri players include Claudio Marchisio, Federico Bernadeschi, and new goalkeeping signing Mattia Perin. Germany's Sami Khedira is another who will make the trip after die Mansnchaft's early World Cup exit. Another new face who has been added is ex-Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

Meanwhile, Bayern has already commenced its preseason activities, unlike Juventus, who is playing its first match of the summer. Die Roten, who are now under the tutelage of Croatian manager Niko Kovac, come into this game having cruised to a 3-1 victory over French champions PSG.

Like the Bianconeri, Bayern Munich do not have a full-strength squad available, with players like Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, Leon Goretzka, Niklas Sule, Sebastian Rudy and Joshua Kimmich all still on break following Germany's horrible World Cup showing earlier this summer. While they could link up with the squad while die Roten are in the USA, it is not likely any are expected to play in Wednesday's match. French midfielder Corentin Tolisso is another who has been rewarded with an extended holiday after Les Bleus' excellent performance. Finally, Colombia's James Rodriguez and Robert Lewandowski - the latter of whom had a very poor World Cup by his esteemed standards - complete the list of players who will not play any part in this upcoming game.

Nonetheless, Bayern fans still can count on the presence of stars like Javi Martinez, David Alaba, Arjen Robben, Arturo Vidal, Kingsley Coman, and Franck Ribery. However, both Martinez and Vidal's participation in the upcoming clash with Juventus could be in doubt as the Spaniard suffered an ankle injury during the win over PSG, while the Chilean sat out in last weekend's game due to a knee problem.
