World football's governing body has dished out fines to three stars in the Three Lions' camp.

Eric Dier, Dele Alli, and Raheem Sterling are the three players who have hit with a £50,000 fine apiece. According to the statement released by FIFA a few hours to the kick-off of England's semi-final clash with Croatia, the named individuals breached the "media and marketing regulations and the FIFA equipment regulations."

This is as a result of the players wearing the peculiarly-patterned Devon-made Trusox on top of their official Nike socks. Despite prior warnings, they were still seen in the socks before and during matches at the ongoing tournament in Russia, hence the sanction.

In a similar manner, the English FA has also been handed a 70,000 Swiss francs for allowing the players to wear unauthorized socks. The football federation of the Three Lions is believed to be considering an appeal for FIFA to lower the fine.
