Germany makes woeful WC history

Germany misses out on KO stage for the second time in WC history

June 27, 2018 By Oscar Rojas
South Korea's win against Die Mannschaft helped Mexico make it to the next stage after El Tri lost their match against Sweden.

The World Cup title is up for grabs!

Germany will not be able to defend their title in the latter stages of the competition, as their baffling World Cup came to an end thanks to a 2-0 loss against South Korea.

Löw's side will now be remembered as one of the worst defending champions, joining France, Italy and Spain as those who failed to make it to the KO stage in the following tournament.

This was not the only record Germany set with their appalling performance. Have a look.

Meanwhile, Mexico and Sweden will make it to the next stage of the competition. Which of these teams will make it further? Well, at least they made it to the next round!
