The French striker revealed his intention to keep playing for Atlético in a unique fashion, and his compatriots didn't keep their thoughts to themselves.

Antoine Griezmann's decision to stay at Atlético Madrid was highly anticipated by fans around the world, and maybe inadvertedly, he had the same effect on his team-mates.

Speaking in today's pre-match presser, Hugo Lloris admitted that Griezmann's choice to reveal the news to the world (a one-hour documentary broadcast by a Spanish TV network) gave his team-mates some relief...and laughter.

"Well, when he told us how he was going to do it, we laughed at him, we took it the same way you did," Lloris stated while laughing.

"It wasn't that relevant for us. What really matters is that he is now free from all the pressure he had in the past few weeks. Now, we can focus on taking Les Bleus as far as possible in the World Cup," the shot-stopper added.

The French side will make its debut in the FIFA World Cup on Saturday, when they face Australia in the first match of Group C.
