Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and Mourinho has made up his mind about which player to sign.

Following the end of the UEFA Champions League finals, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale made waves with their comments about a possible departure from Los Blancos. After Zinedine Zidane's resignation, both players still have to figure out where they will be playing next season, and one of their potential suitors has already named their main transfer target.

According to a report by the Manchester Evening News, Jose Mourinho is well aware of Manchester United's chances of signing either Bale or Cristiano. Surprisingly, The Special One has demanded Ed Woodward to splash cash in order to have Bale around.

There are two main reasons for Mou's choice. Bale is five years younger than CR7, which would give him more time to shine at the Theatre of Dreams. The second reason has to do with how each player fits to Mourinho's tactics, and Mourinho reportedly feels that Bale could be more helpful to the team, since Cristiano would only be used as a center forward, where Romelu Lukaku is seen as the No. 1 option.

Both players have buyout clauses of over $1B dollars, which means that Ed Woodward will have to negotiate with Florentino Pérez if he wants to sign either one of these footballers.
