The team's medical staff shared a new update on the star, following a report by L'Equipe that doomed Salah's chances of playing in Russia

Mohamed Salah's shoulder injury is almost a matter of national interest in Egypt, and a constant source for rumors throughout the world.

With that in mind, an official statement from the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) was required, and the news shared by the team's medical staff gives fans around the world cause for hope.

Dismissing a report by L'Equipe that was published yesterday, Egypt's Football Association hinted that Salah's recovery will not extend to three or four weeks. In fact, and this is according to the doctor Salah consulted in Spain,  the Egyptian ace has a good chance of making it just in time to play in the team's debut against Uruguay on June 15.

"Following the meeting between president Abou Reda and the team's doctor in Spain, the Egyptian Football Association confirms that Mohamed Salah will play the 2018 World Cup. God willing, his absence will not be extended over three weeks," the team's Twitter feed revealed.

Liverpool's doctor,Ruben Pons, elaborated on Salah's recovery period, stating that it will be up to the player's reaction to the treatment that will determine his availability.

"His recovery time will be between three to four weeks, but our main goal is to cut down that prediction. He will determine how long he'll be on the sidelines," Pons added.

Egypt is included in Group A of the 2018 World Cup along with hosts Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia. If this prediction by the team's doctor is accurate, he'll be fully fit to play against Russia on June 19.
