Juventus plans cash-plus-player move with Inter

Juventus prepares to swap strikers with Serie A rivals

May 29, 2018 By Oscar Rojas
The current Scudetto holders will try to lure one of the best strikers in the Italian top flight in order to revamp their offensive unit.

Winning a seventh Serie A title in a row can't be enough for Juventus, and now, the Italian champions are set to extend their dominance in Europe. Their plans include swapping old Argentinean blood for new Argentinean blood, as they prepare to offer Inter Milan a cash-plus-player move to sign one of their main assets.

According to reports by Argentine outlet TyC Sports, the bianconeri are preparing a $69M offer to sign Mauro Icardi away from Inter, but that wouldn't be all, as the Serie A champions are willing to include Gonzalo Higuaín in this negotiation.

Juventus' aim to rejuvenate their frontline was also fueled by Higuain's attitude during the final stages of the season. Added to that, his poor performance in front of goal and constant criticism from fans and experts have forced Juve to make a move for Icardi, the joint-top scorer in the Italian top flight with 29 goals this season.

Icardi, who has been linked with a move away from Inter for the entire year, wouldn't have a probleam leaving the neroazzurri, especially since he knows that Juventus has the potential to win a European title sooner than them. Furthermore, his relationship with many of Inter's players is not the best, and a move away from them would benefit all sides.

If this move happens, each player would join their third Serie A side. The 30-year-old Higuain played for Napoli and Juventus, while the 25-year-old Icardi made his Serie A debut with Sampdoria, before becoming Inter's deadliest threat in front of goal with 107 goals in 182 matches.
