Match facts

  • Liverpool, unbeaten at Anfield this season in the Premier League, could set a record for most campaigns without a single home loss (7) should they avoid defeat.
  • Brighton is winless in their last six meetings with the Reds, losing five and drawing one en route to conceding 22 goals.
  • The last newly-promoted club to win at Anfield was Blackpool back in 2010/11, a run of 21 unbeaten matches.
  • The visitor is level with West Brom for least away goals this season (10).
  • Mohamed Salah needs one more goal to become the first player to score 32 goals in a 38-game English top-flight season.

Liverpool has a few reasons for wanting to beat Brighton in their final game. Maintaining their unbeaten run at home this season is one of them, but the biggest reason is to ensure a Champions League spot.

Klopp’s men are only two points ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea, so a draw should suffice given their superior goal difference. Victory will be sweeter as it will see the Reds end the season on a high and head into the Champions League final with confidence.

Mohamed Salah, who is aiming to become the first player to score 32 goals in a 38-game Premier League season, is the man to watch. He hasn't found the back of the net in three games in all competitions, but the Egyptian remains a deadly goal scorer.

Adam Lallana could make his return on the final game of the season. A hamstring injury has kept him on the sidelines since March but the Englishman has been in training for a week and could feature.

Brighton has no fresh injury worries ahead of their Anfield trip. Steve Sidwell has not featured all season and will miss this fixture as well, but the likes of Jurgen Locadia and Beram Kayal are pushing for a start.
