Apparently, the Argentinean ace wasn't satisfied with how the referee was conducting the game.

The perks of being one of the best players in the world got Lionel Messi off the hook, as he was reportedly involved in a heated argument with El Clásico's ref, Hernández Hernández.

According to reports by Spanish newspapers Mundo Deportivo and Marca, which were later cofirmed by Argentinean outlet Clarín, Messi let the game's referee his "concerns" about his choices on the pitch.

Messi wasn't happy after being booked, and Sergi Roberto's red card before the end of the first half encouraged him to make his voice heard in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms.

"What Messi did prior to the start of the second half was really ugly. It was something we hadn't seen before," sources told Marca and were later confirmed by Clarín.

"Messi went all out against Hernández Hernández telling him: 'You're sh*tting your pants! We've already won La Liga, and that's it. You don't have to give the game away to them. We've had enough of your gifts to them,'" the informant told the Spanish newspaper.

The player's words were fueled by the ref's decision not to send Gareth Bale off and by booking Suárez and Messi himself.

Curiously enough, the ref didn't call a flagrant foul on Luis Suárez that led to Barcelona's second goal, and also chose not to give Real Madrid a penalty after a foul by Jordi Alba on Marcelo in the late minutes of the game.

The Spanish referee also disallowed a legal goal by Barcelona, and had other questionable calls throughout the second half of the game.
