Another round of the Premier League has gone by. It had been a weekend of goodbyes, beginning with Arsene Wenger’s final game at the Emirates – the 5-0 win over Burnley.
The farewells did not stop there, as Stoke said goodbye to the English top-flight. A 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace means they are the first team to officially get relegated this season.
The race to survive the drop intensifies, as two teams have confirmed their safety. Here are the biggest talking points from the weekend action.
Wenger’s Arsenal matches their 2004 record
The 5-0 win over Burnley was an emotional game for Arsenal. Sunday’s game at the Emirates Stadium was the final home game for Arsene Wenger, as the Frenchman bid farewell to the fans ahead of his end-of-season departure.
The five goals scored also saw them record this impressive home record in Le Prof’s final match in north London.

Two teams survive the drop
They are West Ham and Watford. The Hammers beat Leicester 2-0, with Southampton’s 1-1 draw with Everton confirming the London club’s survival. The Hornets, on the other hand, beat Newcastle 2-1 to safeguard their spot in the Premier League.
Who are still battling relegation?
West Brom lives to die another day. However, they need Swansea and Southampton, both of which are also fighting relegation, to play out a draw when they lock horns on Tuesday in order to avoid the drop.
The winner of the midweek Liberty Stadium clash between the Swans and the Saints will likely remain in the top-flight. Huddersfield is also in danger. Unfortunately, they will have to play Chelsea and Arsenal in their final two games, having held Man City to a 0-0 draw.
Speaking of the Premier League champion…
With only two games left for Guardiola’s men before the season ends, they still have time to break this top-flight record. Surely, they will make history.
102 - Manchester City have scored 102 Premier League goals this season, one short of Chelsea’s record in the competition (103 in 2009-10). The last team to score than 103 in a top-flight campaign was Tottenham in 1962-63 (111). Target.
