Two more records for the Real Madrid superstar!

Sunday’s El Clasico despite its outcome having very little to do with the title race went off to a flying start inside the Camp Nou. The frantic atmosphere was met with a bit more delight when Barcelona’s Luis Suarez got on the end of a Sergi Roberto cross to give the host the lead in just 10 minutes of proceedings.

However, the lead was shortlived as Cristiano Ronaldo exhibited his poachers’ ability once again by poking home Benzema’s headed assist into the Blaugrana’s net. Per La Liga’s record books, his feat in the first-half took his goal tally in 33 El Clasico games to 18, putting him level with Alfredo DI Stefano as the Real Madrid players with the most goals in the history of the clash.

The 33-year-old Portuguese forward simultaneously became the only player to score more goals in the El Clasico’s history at Camp Nou with his 12th.
