Karim Benzema became Real Madrid's hero during the first half of the return leg against Bayern, and he managed to keep one long goalscoring streak alive for Los Blancos.
The French striker put to good use a cross by Marcelo just seven minutes after the Bavarian side had taken the lead, scoring his eighth goal in all competitions this season.
Despite his poor form, his goal came in handy for Real Madrid to level the tie, and also saw them reach 42 straight UEFA Champions League games at home. That represents the second time a team has accomplished that feat, as Tottenham did so between 1961 and 1984.
In fact, Real Madrid's streak has taken place in just seven years, as Barcelona was the only team capable of escaping the Bernabeu without conceding against Los Blancos in this competition.
