Marouane Fellaini headed home a late goal to secure all the three points for Manchester United in what was Arsene Wenger's last game as Arsenal manager at Old Trafford.

Arsene Wenger’s last visit to Old Trafford as Arsenal’s manager, despite the warm reception he received prior to kick-off, was met with dismay after he witnessed his side fall to a 2-1 defeat in added time. With the objective of getting a result at Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of the UEFA Europa League in sight, the Frenchman rested a few key players in his side’s trip to Manchester.

His decision was nearly met with a satisfactory response with the game seemingly heading for a draw after Henrikh Mkhitaryan canceled out Paul Pogba’s opener. However, Manchester United’s perseverance ruled the day after an Ashley Young cross was headed past a despairing David Ospina by Marouane Fellaini in the dying embers of proceeding.

The Red Devils’, as a result, secured a spot for Champions League football next season and also saw their record of winning each Premier League game in which they have taken the lead this season remaining intact.
