Transforming Liverpool into a deadly team has attracted interest from a European giant.

Liverpool might not be marching toward the Premier League title, but Jurgen Klopp’s transformation of the club has attracted admirers. Under the German boss, the Merseyside giant has become a goalscoring machine while improving on their defensive frailties.

And as reported by the Sun, the former Dortmund boss is now being eyed by one of Europe’s biggest clubs. According to the British tabloid, the team interested in the Normal One is Real Madrid.

Many will wonder what is wrong with their current boss – Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman has won back-to-back Champions League titles in his first two seasons, including La Liga last term, but Blancos’ struggles in Spain has him under scrutiny.

The Bernabeu side has failed to defend the Spanish Primera Division as they currently sit in third, 16 points behind bitter rival Barcelona. The Champions League is their only shot at silverware this season but failure to win that could cost Zizou his job.

This is how demanding the managerial job at Los Merengues is, but the French World Cup winner knows he must deliver to remain in charge. Should he be sacked, Florentino Perez could turn to Klopp.

The Reds will be keen on a Champions League semi-final spot. Having beaten Man City 3-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final tie, the Merseyside outfit is 90 minutes away from a last-four spot.

Ironically, Liverpool could be Real Madrid’s opponent in the semi-finals as both sides are likely to secure progression. Klopp has previously eliminated the Spanish giant at this stage in the competition back in 2013 with BVB.

As of now, this remains as speculation. Zidane, although wary of the uncertainty surrounding his future, will be solely focused on the Madrid Derby. Klopp, on the other hand, will be preparing for the trip to the Etihad Stadium.
