With the end of the MLS streaming service comes the birth of ESPN+.

ESPN+ is ESPN's new streaming service with an official launch date of April 12, 2018. The specialty sports streaming service will cost $4.99 per month and be available in the US territory. The service will offer exclusive access to streaming of live sports, original ESPN content, as well as on-demand programming available via the redesigned ESPN app and on ESPN.com

Specific details of the ESPN+ streaming service as it pertains to Soccer:

  • The initiative was enacted by Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International’s BAMTECH Media in partnership with ESPN.
  • ESPN+ Subscription Streaming Service will be integrated into the ESPN App.
  • Available Live Sports content Includes MLB games, NHL, MLS, College Sports Events, Top Rank Boxing, PGA TOUR Golf, Grand Slam Tennis, among others.
  • Aside the sporting events, other key contents include high-quality original shows and films, exclusive studio programs and an unmatched on-demand library.
  • All out-of-market MLS games (over 250) will now be exclusively streamed on ESPN+ (over 250 matches).
     
  • The exclusive local-market access for Chicago Fire, with 27 matches available to Chicago subscribers.
  • Access to out-of-market MLS is strictly via subscription.
  • Subscription for live-sports events on ESPN+ will cost $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year.
  •  National broadcasts and in-market Atlanta United matches will be blacked-out (games that will be lined up for replay).
