The Colombian star is currently on a two-year loan deal at Bayern Munich.

Much speculation has surrounded the future of James Rodriguez. The Colombian sensation left Real Madrid last summer to join Bayern Munich, where he has impressed.

Since leaving Los Blancos, where he struggled to earn playing time, he has appeared in 18 games in the Bundesliga and five in the Champions League. However, since the deal that saw him leave Santiago Bernabeu for the Allianz Arena was only a two-year loan, many wondered where he will be next season.

Having scored five and assisted nine in the German top-flight, the player has reportedly attracted interest from the Premier League. However, the Colombian now looks set to snub interest from England to stay with the Bavarians.

This is according to Marca. The Spanish news outlet claims that Bayern Munich is ready to trigger the purchase option in the loan deal agreed with his Spanish employer.

The German outfit has already paid $16m for the 26-year-old. However, the soon-to-be Bundesliga champion will pay an extra $51.7m to make his stay permanent, which is, in all honesty, a bargain in this inflated market.

If true, Real Madrid will earn over $65m from James’ departure. Meanwhile, the player and the entire team are gearing up for their Champions League quarter-final clash with Sevilla on Tuesday.
