With Aguero and Messi already on the sidelines, Sampaoli’s side has been robbed of another key player for their upcoming friendly.

Argentina beat Italy 2-0 in a friendly on Friday, but the South American giant’s preparations for the upcoming World Cup won’t stop there. Next up for La Albiceleste is a trip to Madrid for a clash with Spain.

Unfortunately, Sampaoli’s side has been hit with another injury blow. They will be without PSG superstar Angel Di Maria for the Wanda Metropolitano fixture.

The Ligue 1 playmaker suffered a myalgia in the back of his right thigh, thus ruling him out of Tuesday’s friendly. This is another worry for a manager who had already seen his side rocked by two other massive injury blows.

The former Sevilla boss was without both Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi in the victory of the Azzurri. The Man City forward stands little to no chance of featuring against La Roja due to his knee injury.

La Pulga, on the other hand, will likely be back in time for the Spain tie. The Barcelona icon was left out of the squad as a precaution due to a muscular problem but is not guaranteed to start against the 2010 World Cup winner.
