Soon afterward, the player headed for the tunnel and was subsequently replaced by Harry Maguire. Further examination is yet to be done to reveal the extent of the injury. Joe Gomez recently returned to full fitness after a suffering a knee injury.

Back in the 2015/2016 season, the promising youngster missed 234 days of football action after suffering a Cruciate ligament injury in October 2015. The subsequent season also came with its own trouble as an Achilles tendon problem forced the Gomez to sit out 15 Liverpool games spread between July 2016 and November 2016.
He joins Ryan Bertrand as the second English player to have injured during the international break.
