Jonathan Calleri leveled the game for Las Palmas, but it's still unclear what foul referee Mateu Lahoz saw inside the box.

If La Liga needed a little flavor, today's display by Mateu Lahoz certainly added the Spanish top flight some spice.

The Spanish referee awarded Las Palmas a dubious penalty during their game against Barcelona, shortening Los Blaugranas' lead at the top of the table to five points over Atlético. With the upcoming match between the two teams this call could be hugely influential in the end of the La Liga season.

Lahoz's call was so baffling that neither Barcelona nor Las Palmas' players were able to say what was the foul he saw. Here are some possibilities according to what we could see in replays.

Lucas Digne prevented one of Las Palmas' players from scoring via a handball. A bit harsh if you ask us!

Sergi Roberto seemed to have a hold on Matías Aguirregaray. This could have been it for Lahoz, but he waited too long to award the spot kick.

Either way, Lahoz's call ended the fourth longest streak for a team (Barcelona) in La Liga without conceding a penalty.

Barcelona have conceded their first La Liga penalty since February 14, 2016 (79 games ago)
