The polivalent footballer will keep on playing for Los Blaugranas until the end of the 2021-22 season. Terms of the deal weren't revealed.

pBarcelona's hero during their historical come-from-behind win against PSG will keep on playing for them, as Sergi Roberto signed a contract extension with the club for the next four seasons

The homegrown player pledged loyalty to the club after being tempted by a number of teams. Nevertheless, the possibility of leaving Los Blaugranas never crossed his mind.

"I was delighted to hear talk about a contract extension from the beginning. This is my club, I am a culé. It's true that other teams knocked on my door, but I wanted to continue my career here and I am happy to have signed this deal until 2022, and if I'm granted yet another extension, even better," the player stated.

The 26-year-old player looked into the lack of talent from La Masia in the first team. According to Sergi Roberto, their lack of success with Los Blaugranas can't always be pinned on them not being able to handle the pressure.

There are lots of players that are promoted to the first team, and all of them dream about making it. Then, there's stuff they can't control, because some of them go out on loan or transferred. There were teams that wanted me, but I decided to fight for my dream," the player added.

Before the press conference concluded, Sergi Roberto referred to the UEFA Champions League tie between Real Madrid and PSG. Needless to say, he gave Les Parisiens a boost of confidence in their attempt to win the ticket to the quarter finals.

"We managed to overcome a much more complicated score. It's doable. The result from the first leg gives them a lot of chances to make it to the next stage," the footballer concluded.
