Sergio Aguero equaled a record set by former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke in Manchester City's trip to Basel.

The Argentine international banged in a 24-yard screamer in the 23rd minute for Manchester City in their Champions League Round of 16 first-leg game versus FC Basel. Prior to that, the forward had been on the scoresheets in three away games against Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli, and Feyenoord.

Per the record books, the former Atletico Madrid marksman became the first player featuring for an English side to score in four successive away games in the UEFA Champions League since Dwight Yorke did so in Manchester United’s treble-winning season back 1999.

Consequently, Aguero's goal became his 29th for the season, his 10th in his last 6 starts and 198th in total since becoming a Manchester City player. Prior to the record-leveling finish, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernado Silva ensured that the Citizens started the second half against Basel with a three-goal advantage.
