Diego Godín's accident against Valencia's goalkeeper could have escaped the attention of some, but the aftermath caused the incident to go viral.

On Sunday, Godín was playing for Atlético against Los Naranjeros when he tried to put his head to a cross. Valencia's goalie Neto clashed against Godín, making him lose three teeth in the process. One of those pieces can be seen flying around in a pic that went viral after the game.

Today, the defender posted a picture on his Instagram feed, where he can be seen recovering from his recent surgery. Atlético's captain can be seen drinking mate, a classic South American tea, while "smiling" to the camera.

"Thank you all for your support messages and all youur love! I expect to be back in a couple of days. Please give me a break, as I can't smile a lot!"
