Argentina's boss visited most of his potential players for the 2018 World Cup, including Inter Milan's wantaway striker.

Mauro Icardi's future may very well be linked to Real Madrid, according to Argentina's boss Jorge Sampaoli.

La Albiceleste's boss returned from his European tour earlier today, and he inadvertedly shed light on what the future might hold for the tall Inter Milan striker, since he revealed contacts between Los Blancos and the neroazzurri's goalscoring threat.

"I told Icardi what I told everyone else: he needs to stay at the top of his game. If he doesn't kick back and relax, he'll be called up. Besides, he's being followed by Real Madrid, so he can't afford relaxing," Sampaoli stated.

"Icardi is being followed and tempted by Real Madrid," the Argentine coach added.

Yesterday, Icardi ignited the rumor mill by posting a couple of enigmatic messages on social media, where he seemed to say goodbye to the Italian club. Icardi's future with the neroazzurri could be decided by the end of the season, since the striker wants to play UEFA Champions League football, and Inter Milan are in jeopardy of missing out on the competition.

Real Madrid's boss, Zinedine Zidane, has made it abundantly clear that the Spanish giants will not sign any players during the current transfer window. Nevertheless, the team could experience a massive makeover during the summer, and Icardi would be a good addition to Los Blancos due to his goalscoring skills.
