Some of Liverpool's followers doubted their execs had made the right call when they decided to splash cash to sign Virgil Van Dijk. Today, the Dutch defender surely silenced some of his critics by scoring the game-winning goal for Liverpool against Everton.
Liverpool's newest player scored with six minutes left in the game, putting to good use a corner kick taken by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Jordan Pickford left his net unguarded as he tried to clear the ball, leaving an open net for Van Dijk to use his new "hero" shirt.
The player's reaction after the goal didn't go unnoticed for Liverpool fans.
