The German ace has been offered a new deal by Arsene Wenger, but the player has other plans in mind.

Mesut Özil's future will be one of the hottest transfer sagas next year, and the German ace seems to have made up his mind about where he wants to continue his playing career.

According to the Daily Mail, the German playmaker will follow the footsteps of Robin Van Persie, as he will turn down an offer by Arsenal to join Manchester United.

Özil has allegedly told his inner circle that he wants to team up once more with former boss Jose Mourinho in his quest to win the English Premier League title with the Red Devils.

With his decision, Arsenal's No. 11 would snub Barcelona, the team where most Spanish experts saw him playing after the 2018 World Cup.

Özil and Mourinho worked together at Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013. The German ace scored 27 times and handed out 73 assists for Los Blancos in 157 games, all of them with Mourinho as his coach. When the Portuguese manager left the club, Özil forced his exit to play in the Premier League with Arsenal.
