Match Facts & Stats

  • Newcastle have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches
  • Chelsea have scored at least 2 goals in 6 of their last 7 home matches against Newcastle in all competitions
  • Chelsea have won their last 4 home matches against Newcastle in all competitions
  • Newcastle have failed to win 17 of their last 18 away matches
  • Chelsea have won 5 of their last 6 matches
  • Newcastle have failed to score in three of their last four trips to Stamford Bridge
  • The last time Newcastle beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge was in May 2012

Although Chelsea are 11 points adrift of Manchester City, the Blues can certainly keep on putting pressure on City's cross-town rivals Manchster United. The league title appears out of Antonio Conte's hands at this point - unless if Pep Guardiola's side suffer a surprise collapse - but Chelsea are definitely looking good to at least secure a top four finish if they can maintain the generally solid form they have had all season.

Both César Azpilicueta and Tiemoué Bakayoko are expected to return to the starting XI after being given a rest during the midweek win over Swansea, while Eden Hazard is also anticipated to feature as a starter after being used as a substitute.

As for Newcastle United, things have gone horribly awry for Rafa Benitez's side. They have picked up just one point from their last five games, and have a frustrating record at Stamford Bridge. In addition, they have won just one of their last 18 away games and have scored a measly 13 goals so far this season, while Chelsea have tightened things up at the back, conceding just one goal in their last five league matches. That was during a 1-1 draw with Liverpool, so it goes without saying that the visitors will find it tough in London on Saturday afternoon.
