The French striker appeared in a TV show, where he discussed his relationship with the Portuguese striker and criticism from fans.

Karim Benzema left no stone unturned during an interview with Canal Football Club, a football show in France. The Les Bleus' outcast shared his views on Cristiano Ronaldo, the criticism from Real Madrid's supporters, and his options of returning to the French National Team.

Real Madrid's Number 9 admitted that  his relationship with the Portuguese ace is top-notch, but he admitted it would be better if he was a bit more collaborative.

"I like playing beside him, we get along just fine. He's a bit more selfish than I am, but I guess it's OK," Benzema stated.

The subject where he didn't hold back was the controversy between himself and Real Madrid's fans, who have been rather harsh with their criticism against the Frenchman.

"I have to set an example on the pitch. Criticism, insults, it's not easy. It gets worse when all that criticism comes from your supporters. The hardest thing to deal with while playing for Real Madrid is handling all the pressure, but I guess that with age, I've learned how to deal with it," the player added.

"As long as Deschamps is France's coach, I won't get a call up" - Karim Benzema

The French ace admitted his desire to play for his country, but it's been almost 30 months since his last call up, and he's finally admitted that his future with Les Bleus will not exist until Didier Deschamps leaves his job as the national team's tactician.

"As long as Didier Deschamps is France's coach, I won't get a call up to play for Les Bleus. Of course I still believe I've got what it takes (to play for them), but it's been two and a half years (since his last call up) and you need to take a hint," Benzema stated.

The player's been sidelined from the French side since he was implicated in a blackmail case, which involved former Les Bleus team-mate Mathieu Valbuena and Karim Zenati, Benzema's childhood friend. Allegedly, Benzema negotiated with Valbuena on Zenati's behalf to prevent the leak of a sex tape that had Valbuena in one of the "starring" roles.
