EPL Matchday 9 round-up: Arsenal set impressive feat, Aguero equals goalscoring record

October 23, 2017 By Ali M.
Furthermore, Harry Kane put an end to his Wembley hoodoo thanks to an abysmal display from Liverpool's defense.

Another round in the Premier League has gone by, brining a few surprise results over the weekend. Although there was a routine 3-0 win for leaders Man City, Man United fell to a surprise 2-1 loss at Huddersfield.

Chelsea fought to a 4-2 comeback win at home to Watford, whilst Arsenal shipped five goals past Everton to pile up the pressure on Ronald Koeman. Elsewhere, Tottenham ripped apart Liverpool en route to a 4-1 triumph.

The Citizens now enjoy a five-point lead at the top over the Red Devils. Harry Kane is now the league’s top-scorer with eight goals, whilst Man City duo David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne are the most creative players with six assists each. Check out the best stats from Matchday 9.

Arsenal set impressive goalscoring record

What is the best way to celebrate your birthday? Winning a game by five goals isn’t bad, as goals from Monreal; Ozil; Lacazette; Ramsey; and Alexis earned the Gunners an impressive victory on the day their manager turned 68.

But the gifts kept coming for Wenger, as his side set an impressive record. Sunday saw the north London giants score their 100th Premier League goal vs the Toffees, becoming the first club to net a century of goals against a single club in the English top-flight.

Harry Kane ends his Wembley hoodoo

Despite being a lethal striker, Harry Kane had never scored at Wembley for Spurs in the Premier League… until Sunday’s 4-1 win over Liverpool.

Rooney continued haunting Arsenal despite Everton’s 5-2 loss

Sergio Aguero is now Man City’s joint-highest scorer

Liverpool’s defense endure worst start in 53 years

The Reds’ back four have let in 16 goals so far. This is the most they have conceded after only nine top-flight games since 1964-65. They are also the sixth team to concede 1000+ Premier League goals.
