Liverpool have not been known for having a solid defense, but never has a leaky back-four appeared enough to threaten the Reds’ title push than this season. Whilst being deadly higher up the pitch, they are shambles in their own penalty box.
This was evident for everyone to see in their clash with Tottenham. Klopp’s men traveled to Wembley to lock horns with the north London outfit having drawn 0-0 in their previous Premier League game – against Man United.
Within five minutes, the visitors were trailing. Failure to track Harry Kane saw the hosts take an early lead. Things would only get worse from there for Liverpool.
After 12 minutes, Tottenham’s lead was doubled thanks to a goal from Son. An error from Dejan Lovren allowed Harry Kane to get behind the Reds’ defense and set up the Korean striker for the second goal of the game.
The Merseyside giants managed to pull one back, as Mohamed Salah scored a goal to hand the visitors a lifeline. However, the away side conceded another two goals - one before the half-time whistle and the other right after the break.
