The Red Devils came out of Anfield with a draw, but it was not a fine display from Mourinho's attack.

On Saturday, Man United traveled to Liverpool for a highly-anticipated clash. Although fans were expecting a thrilling goal-fest, the two sides played out a goalless draw after 90 minutes.

The home side made several attempts to beat their bitter rivals – David de Gea pulled off one extraordinary save in the first half to keep things 0-0. However, the same cannot be said for the visitors.

Lukaku and Co. struggled at Anfield, with the Belgian in particular cutting a frustrated figure. The Red Devils tried to hit the Merseyside giants on the counter, but the former Everton forward did little to beat Mignolet.

The stats even prove it. In the entire 90 minutes, Man United had only one shot on target. They had only six attempts on goal –Liverpool had 19 – and enjoyed only 38% of the possession.

Some may argue Mourinho had no choice but to play it safe. With Fellaini and Pogba sidelined, Rashford starting on the bench, the Special One was not spoilt for choices.

Others may disagree and may view this tactic as a typical Mourinho move. The Portuguese boss is known for parking the bus in tough away games to secure a draw at the very least, and draw his team did.
