Wolfsburg’s Edin Dzeko is well on his way to Manchester City according to some fresh football transfer news. The Bosnian striker is set to be a Sky Blue in about one week’s time.
Edin Dzeko, whose value as a player has gone from 40,000 euros to 35 million euros in 7 years, has been a hot topic lately when it comes to transfer matters. Now, the Wolfsburg player is ready to join Manchester City’s revolution and Coach Roberto Mancini relishes the prospect of possessing such a goal poacher as the Telegraph quoted the Italian boss as saying:

“We’ve got the chance to win the [English Premier] league this year and the decisive factor could be Edin Dzeko. This player can decide titles and that’s why we want him [at Man City].”

As of now, there has been no agreement between Dzeko and the Sky Blues, based on reports. However, the English side will be confident of landing the striker considering his own determination to join the club.

Earlier last summer, Manchester City were fearing to lose out to an Italian team for the signature of the Bosnia & Herzegovina international since transfer rumours indicated that he was eying a move to the Serie A. However, an email from Edin Dzeko to Man City apparently gave hope to the Sky Blues who are now looking to wrap up a switch for the 24-year-old man – also previously known to be Marc Hughes' target during the manager’s time at Eastlands.

Another good piece of news is the fact that Wolfsburg – who have virtually no chance of playing Champions League football next season – have agreed to reduce the €50M price-tag which they had set for the transfer of Edin Dzeko. Expect the forward to be in Manchester City soon whereas Roque Santa Cruz is preparing to end his miserable spell with the Sky Blues.

The Paraguayan striker is expected to complete a loan move to Lazio with the possibility of making it a permanent move come next summer. As for Dzeko, he might not arrive in time to play Man City's next match which is on January 1, at home to Blackpool. However, he could make a historic debut for the Sky Blues as they will play away to Arsenal 4 days later.
