Chelsea hoping to heap misery on cross-town rivals...who haven't won a league game at Stamford Bridge in six years

Chelsea

Chelsea have simply gone from strength to strength since their shocking opening day defeat and cruised to a very comfortable 6-0 win over Eastern European outfit Qarabag in their Champions League group stage opener midweek. With Atletico Madrid firing blanks against Roma, that sees the Blues comfortably sitting on top of their group ahead of their meeting with Los Rojiblancos in less than two weeks' time.

The most recent competitive meeting between the two sides ended as a victory for Arsenal, during which Pedro was sent off and the Gunners triumphed on spot-kicks. In fact, the last win for Chelsea in this fixture was back on February 4th. Chelsea are only missing Danny Drinkwater for this match, meaning that Antonio Conte will have a full-strength squad available for slection.

Arsenal

Meanwhile, Arsenal come into this fixture having also won midweek in their European tie. However, it was far from an assured showing from Arsene Wenger's side, who are featuring in the Europa League for the  first time under the French tactician's tenure. Still, despite going 1-0 down, the Gunners rallied back to secure three points, and that marks their second straight win across all comps following their shockingly bad showing duirng a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Liverpool before the international hiatus.

Still, it was less than a year ago that Arsenal famously (or, if one's a Chelesa fan, infamously) crushed Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates. That was a rather rude "welcome to English football" for Conte, who had only just arrived in his position on the Blues bench after departuring the Azzurri earlier that summer.

In terms of personnel, Santi Carzola and Francis Coquelin are definite absentees for this match.
