Petr Cech
Yes, recently, Petr Cech has not been as powerful as he used to be in the past. Especially in Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Sunderland this season, his performance was absolutely below par. However, he is still the pit of Chelsea’s defensive structure, and incontrovertibly, he remains one of the best keepers in the EPL.
His reflex, punches, and catches—thanks to his height—have deeply troubled opposing forwards over the years, and every time the Londoners get into action, it is unlikely that the Premier League title holders will concede much. Sadly for them, this has not been the case lately, but today, Petr Cech could find back his form and stand as the shield of the visitors against Arsenal the Gunners.
Florent Malouda
Malouda cannot be under-estimated. Winning and enjoying long-lasting success are always his primary goals, and featuring in big games is a real pleasure for him. He is confident that Chelsea will rule over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on another occasion; however, he believes that his side’s defense will need to have a positive involvement in the match so as to thrive in the end. Malouda currently has 7 goals and an assist in 17 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Nicolas Anelka
Anelka is not really accomplishing as much as a prolific goal scorer would for Chelsea this season. Only 3 goals in 15 games have ruled him out from the race of top scorers, but his team play is one that can truly confuse opposing defenses. By hook or by hook, he often appears to fall in favorable areas on the field for his team, hence giving the Blues’ free-kick and penalty takers huge chances of netting goals.
Whether it turns out to be directly or indirectly, Anelka could again be of great assistance for his club against Arsenal. In fact, in view of Chelsea’s dangerous situation right now, he’d better be.
Didier Drogba
Having recovered from a sickness that kept him out of form for some time, Drogba will be making his return to the Chelsea line-up against Arsenal. Drogba can be uncontainable when his physical status reaches its peak, and not many keepers enjoy being at their post waiting for the Ivorian forward’s bullet strikes. Although he has not been at his very best this season, he still has 7 goals and 6 assists in his name in 14 appearances.
Frank Lampard
Along with Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard will be welcomed back in Chelsea’s starting line-up, after pulling through an injury. Lampard has only appeared in 4 Premier League this season, and consequently, the 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium could memorably mark his great moment of revitalization, as he will be helping his team mate get rid of the winless curse they got after the departure of assistant coach Ray Wilkins. Lampard is visibly an exciting midfielder, so spectators of the Arsenal vs Chelsea match can only wait and see what he will have for them later today.
