The Citizens are going all out in order to land the Arsenal attacker before Thursday's deadline.

We are only three games into the new Premier League season, and yet crisis already looms at Arsenal. The Gunners have conceded eight and have lost twice, and now look set to lose star player Alexis Sanchez to Man City.

The transfer window shuts close on Thursday, thus forcing the Citizens to go all out in order to land the Chilean ace this summer. With only a year in his contract, Wenger must either cash in on him now or risk losing him for nothing once the season ends.

There is belief that the Gunners might listen to a straight-up £70m bid, but Guardiola’s side have not tabled that offer. Instead, according to the Mirror, Man City have made a sensational player-plus-cash offer involving Raheem Sterling.

There reportedly has been direct contact between the two clubs. Time is against the Citizens, thus forcing them to axe their speedy Englishman – who scored a late equalizer and winner in his last two games – to get the deal done.

Furthermore, TV13 claim that Sanchez has asked permission to leave the Chile camp for 24 hours to conduct personal business. The Arsenal attacker is set to face Paraguay on Thursday in a World Cup qualifier, but has long desired a reunion with Guardiola.

Despite all of this, the Mirror claim that the north London outfit are likely to reject Man City’s latest offer. Arsenal have stated several times before that their South American ace is not for sale, as they need their best players to help them out of their early dip in form.

In addition to that, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on his way to Chelsea. Selling another key player to a direct rival would only sabotage the Gunners’ campaign.
