The French manager outclassed the newly appointed Blaugrana boss even without some of his finest footballers.

Zinedine Zidane keeps re-writing Real Madrid's record books as a manager, and Wednesday's El Clásico triumph confirmed him as one of the best in Los Blancos' history.

The French boss won his seventh title while in charge of Real Madrid. Zizou has now raised a trophy as Los Blancos' coach every 21 games, making it one of the best records in history.

Furthermore, he is now Los Blancos' third most-winning coach in history, tying former manager Vicente Del Bosque, who accomplished the same amount in four years. Zidane managed to do so in 19 months.

But Real's win also meant one more success against Barcelona, especially in his rivalry against Ernesto Valverde. Zizou has coached five competitive games against Valverde's clubs, Athletic and Barcelona. Zidane has emerged victorious in every single one of them, as Valverde has only beaten Zizou's Real Madrid in the friendly match held on July 29.

Furthermore, Valverde's stint as Barcelona boss has started off with the wrong foot. In fact, he's already made history for Los Blaguranas for all the wrong reasons.

"Valverde is the THIRD Barcelona coach to lose his first two competitive games behind Nogues (1942) and Aragonés (1987)"
