Man City want the Chilean ace, with the Gunners doing everything they can to hold on to last season's top-scorer.

Alexis Sanchez’s Arsenal future has been one of the hottest transfer news of the summer. The Chilean ace’s contract expires next month, meaning the Gunners must sell now if they wish to generate fee.

Man City are the favorites, as the former Barca attacker is keen on reuniting with Pep Guardiola. PSG have also re-entered the race in their attempt to reclaim the Ligue 1 title from Monaco.

However, Wenger has handed a huge blow to both suitors by stressing, once again, that their South American attacker is going nowhere. The French manager, currently in Shanghai for the International Champions Cup in China, spoke to the press about Sanchez’s future.

“The decision has been made and we will stick to that,” Le Prof said. “The decision is not to sell.”

This move can be interpreted in many ways. Either Wenger has made peace with the idea of Alexis leaving as a free agent next summer, or he believes the Sanchez-Lacazette partnership can end their Premier League title wait and thus convince the Chilean to stay.

Regardless, keeping the 28-year-old will gravely aid the north London outfit’s return to the Champions League. Qualification would secure the Gunners around £40m – only £10m less than the asking price for Sanchez.
