As many as eight Gunners players could be up for the chopping block.

Arsenal have already shattered the club transfer record when they signed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon. The £53m they paid for the French striker overtook Ozil’s move from Real Madrid to the Emirates Stadium.

However, the Gunners could break their transfer record for the second time in the same summer window. According to the Daily Mail, the north London outfit could shatter their record once more, this time for Thomas Lemar.

The FA Cup holders have been linked with the Monaco ace throughout the current transfer window. Two Arsenal bids have been rejected by the Ligue 1 champions – worth £30m and £40m. This is despite the fact that Monaco have issued a hands-off warning to Arsenal over the 21-year-old.

The player himself is believed to favor an Arsenal move, and Wenger’s side are thus confident of landing Lemar at the right price. That fee could be £80m, with add-ons included.

Several fringe players could be sold by Wenger to raise funds, which could in turn aid the Gunners’ Lemar chase. First on the chopping block is goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who will join Juventus for a reported £10m fee.

Arsenal’s British core – Gibbs, Jenkinson, Chambers, and Wilshere – are all on the hunt for new clubs. Wilshere’s destination remains unknown, but a future in north London appears unlikely after his loan-spell with Bournemouth was ended by a foot injury.

Mathieu Debuchy could join Nice over the summer, and Lucas Perez is up for sale – but not for less than £12m. Olivier Giroud is also subject to interest from Everton, BVB, and West Ham, but Arsene recently stated that he wants the Frenchman to stay at the Emirates.
