The Stars & Stripes managed to become the leader of Group B despite wasting a couple of penalty kicks in the second half.

The hosts of the 2017 Gold Cup may have struggled during their first two games of the competition, but they redeemed themselves in their final group match.

Arena's men defeated Nicaragua 3-0 thanks to goals by Joe Corona, Kelyn Rowe ad Matt Miazga, which were enough to grant them the top of Group B, even after missing two penalty kicks in less than 15 minutes.

With this win, the Stars & Stripes set a couple of records in the tournament's history. The USMNT qualified to their 14th straight KO stage in the competition, something that Mexico could match on Sunday.

The other one came via Matt Miazga's late goal, which sealed the group's first place for the USMNT.

The USMNT's next game will be revealed on Monday, once all group stage games are over.
