If there were doubts about what contribution will Wayne Rooney have for Everton, he stepped up to silence his critics today.
Sure, it was just a friendly, but the 31-year old striker proved his worth with an impressive long-distance shot to give Everton the lead in his first game with his boyhood club in over 13 years.
The Toffees ended up winning their first pre-season match against Kenyan side Gor Mahia with a 2-1 score, but Rooney's goal deserves most headlines after his effort.
